Box Score MEQUON, Wis. – The Adrian College women's hockey team rolled the Falcons of Concordia (Wis.) in route to a 7-1 victory. Bulldog captain Kaylyn Schroka scored two goals and three assists to lead the Adrian offense in the convincing win.
Schroka would earn all three assists in the first period. The first one was recorded on a goal by teammate Brooke Lupi just 5:23 into the first period. The second goal was scored by Courtney Tyll, Schroka and Sydney Smith on the assist) with 4:27 left in the period. The final goal of the period would be scored by Kristin Lewicki, assists from Lupi and Schroka, on the power play with 15 seconds left. The Bulldogs would take a 3-0 lead into the first intermission.
Adrian would score another three goals in the second period to double the lead. The first two came from Schroka and the third from Lewicki putting the score at 6-0 going into the final intermission.
Lupi would score the final goal for the Bulldogs nine minutes into the final stanza. The lone Concordia (Wis.) goal was scored on the power play by Lexi Hollman with 56 seconds remaining in the game. She was assisted by teammates Alexis Machuga and Veronika Metanova.
Adrian outshot Concordia (Wis.) 42-15. The Bulldogs went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Falcons went 1-for-2.
Adrian travels to face Bethel (Minn.) on Monday, January 18 at 8:00 p.m., CST.
