Box Score BLAINE, Minn. – The Adrian College women's hockey team went a perfect 3-0 on the weekend after sweeping Bethel (Minn.), 2-0 on Monday. Olivia Ziemba and Sydney Smith scored the two goals in the first period for the Bulldogs.
Ziemba struck first less than two minutes into the first half to give Adrian the 1-0 lead, her first goal of the season. She was assisted by Kortney Diaz and Bailey Robertson. Smith would double the Bulldog lead in the final three minutes of the first period, scoring on a power play. She was assisted by teammates Brooke Lupi and Hannah Dalrymple.
Jade Walsh had the start in net for the Bulldogs. She allowed zero goals and recorded 22 saves to earn the victory and the sweep, her third of the year.
Adrian edged Bethel (Minn.) in face offs 34-60. The Bulldogs went 1-for-4 on face offs; Bethel went 0-for-4.
Adrian returns home this week when they host NCHA opponent FInlandia for a two game series this weekend. The game on Friday starts at 7:00 p.m., the Saturday game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Saturday's game is also senior day for the Bulldogs.
