Box Score ANGOLA, Ind.--The Adrian College football team couldn't overcome four turnovers that contributed to a 31-13 loss Saturday at Trine University.

FOR ADRIAN
= Sophomore wide receivers Darius Philon and Jerron McGaw both had a good day. The former led all student-athletes with 91 yards on five catches and the latter had a game-best six receptions (86).
= Freshman quarterback Hunter Hamm threw a personal-record 35 times, completing 16 passes for 260 yards in back-to-back starts.
= Senior running back Wyatt Derrer scored his first career touchdown--from a yard out--to close the scoring for both teams late in the fourth.
= Defensively, linebackers sophomore Angus Arthur and junior Jacob Davis had 13 and 10 total stops, respectively. Arthur had four solo, including 1.5 tackles for loss of 6 yards, and a forced fumble. Pat Stephenson contributed four solo and five total tackles.
THE OPPOSITION
= Brandon Rooze was 13-for-17 passing with 118 yards, a TD and interception.
= Quarterback Andrew Duckett came off the bench to complete all three pass attempts for 38 yards and a pair of TDs.
= Jeffery Barnett, Andrew Bonfiglio and Seth Boggs each caught a TD pass. Barnett led the team with five receptions and 63 yards.
= Robert Riley was the only Thunder in double digits with 11 tackles, including three solo.
= Me'Leick Miles added six total tackles (2 solo) and had three quarterback hurries.
= Mark Wilson led all rushers with 20 carries and 118 yards, while Andrew Duckett added 18 and 74.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Trine jumped out to a 21-0 lead early in the third quarter.
= The Thunder turned two Adrian turnovers into 14 points. The defense also turned in two fourth-down stops on the Bulldogs.
= Trine took a 14-0 halftime lead after long scoring drives. In the first quarter, Bonfiglio capped a 14-play, 75-yarder in 7:01 with a 2-yard reception in the end zone with 2 minutes and 6 seconds left. In the second, Evan Wyse had a nine-yard scamper for a TD that came after 80 yards in 10 plays and 4:19 time of possession.
= Adrian got on the scoreboard late in the third when sophomore D'Angelo Gaines had a 1-yard TD plunge.
= Trine opened the fourth stanza with a Boggs 7-yard pass from Duckett and Lucas Garza 33-yard field goal to make it 31-7.
= Despite the 18-point margin, the teams were fairly equal in several statistical categories: total yards (TU 404-403), time of possession (TU 31:11-28:49), first downs (AC 23-22) and total plays (AC 69-67).
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
= The Thunder reclaim the Black and Blue Border Brawl trophy after the Bulldogs won last season, 38-24, at home on Senior Day.
= Adrian had won the Black and Blue Border Brawl for the past five outings--the longest winning streak by either side in the series that started in 2003.
= With the win, Trine remains one game back of first place in the MIAA standings. With the loss, Adrian likely is eliminated from conference title contention.
= Freshman Robert Campbell had his first career interception in a Bulldogs uniform.
= Adrian came into today as one of the NCAA's best in losing only three fumbles through seven games, but had two against Trine.
