Women's Bowling Repeats No. 9 Finish in American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Tournament #2

COLUMBUS, Ohio--Despite knocking down less pins from its previous outing, the Adrian College women's bowling team still secured a No. 9 finish in the second American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference Tournament held Sunday at the Bowling Palace. Adrian bowled a 6,036 pin total to outpace 11 other schools in the 20-team field.

Leading the Bulldogs' cause were sophomore Marissa Land and senior Brittney Antonelli. Land had a four-game total of 754, averaging 188.50 pins, to finish in eighth place out of 163 individuals. Antonelli also had a solid day by finishing 26th place with a 708 for four games, and a 177.9 average.

"For the weekend, the girls had a pair of top-10 finishes which isn't bad, but we are much better than where we are placing," noted Adrian second-year head coach John Essenmacher III. "We need to improve, and through practice and making more spares we will get better.

"I am looking forward to next week, though, to try and repeat (as champions) at our home tournament on Nov. 5 at the AC Open."

Division I Wright State again won the team title with a 6,657
