ROSSFORD, Ohio--The Adrian College women's bowling team put together another successful tournament to wrap up the first semester schedule, placing fourth at the 14-team Bowling Green State University Falcon Classic at Interstate Lanes.
Adrian started off great by leading the tournament for the first three games before hitting a rough spot toward then end of the day. However, the team stabilized its play and ranked among the final four in the final team standings.
The Bulldogs were led by junior Lauren Krywy who was the individual runner-up, totaling 1,085 pins for five games and averaging 217. Classmate Jennifer Kelly finished in 13th place with a 196.6 average and 983 total. Senior Brittney Antonelli ended up 17th with a total of 975 and she averaged 195 for five games. Sophomore Marissa Land rounded out four top-20 finishes for Adrian--27th with a 190.6 average for five games (953 total).
"Overall the girls did great again. They bowl exceptionally well as a group and for the singles portion, too," said Adrian head coach John Essenmacher III. "We just need to close out tournaments with better baker scores and make more spares."
After fall semester exams and the winter holidays, Adrian resumes action for the spring semester on Saturday (11 a.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m.), Jan. 14-15, for the Buckeye Baker Challenge in Columbus at HP Lanes. The two-day event is hosted by Ohio State University.
