@ACBulldogHockey Doubles Up Defending National Champion and No. 2-Ranked UW-Stevens Point

ADRIAN, Mich.--Freshman Vincent Paquette notched his first career multi-point game for Adrian College to lead the Bulldogs to a convincing 6-3 non-conference win over visiting University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in a battle of NCAA Division III men's hockey powers.

FOR ADRIAN
= Paquette registered a career-high three points to lead all scorers with a goal and two assists.

= Sophomore Connor Armour and junior Kyle Brothers both had a goal and an assist.

= Sophomore Cory Dunn chipped in a pair of assists and had a plus-4 rating from his defenseman position.

= Classmate Kevin Entmaa stopped 21 of 24 shots he faced to improve to 5-1 on the season.

THE OPPOSITION
= Lawrence Cornellier led the Pointers with two goals and five shots on goal.

= Kyle Sharkey and Tanner Karty both had two assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian jumped out to a 4-0 lead and never trailed in the game.

= Freshman Matt McNair got the scoring under way 3 minutes and 19 seconds gone in the first period with a deflection on a shot from the right point by fellow First-year Joey Colatarci.

= Paquette made it 2-0 with his third goal of the season 3:33 later--another re-directed tally on shot from the point.

= Armour closed the scoring in the opening stanza with an extra-attacker power-play goal at the 14:59 mark. Adrian held a commanding 3-0 advantage after 20 minutes.

= After senior Austin Hervey gave the Bulldogs a 4-0 cushion, UWSP got on the board with the first of its two power-play goals on the night. Trace Strahle took a feed from Karty and scored his third goal of the season midway through the second period.

= The teams each scored twice over the final 26:38 to account for the 6-3 margin of victory for the hosts.

= The Pointers were 2-for-4 with the man-advantage while the Bulldogs converted one of eight opportunities.

= Adrian outshot UWSP 33 to 24 for the game.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Paquette also set a personal-record with his two assists.

= This was a rematch of the 2016 NCAA Men's Division III Ice Hockey Championship Quarterfinals won by UWSP 5-2 here in Adrian.

= The Bulldogs even the all-time series between the teams, 5-5. They will meet again next month for a two-game series at Stevens Point.

= Adrian has scored the first goal in each of its seven games, and is 6-1 in those instances.

= Sophomore Bryan Yim scored an empty-net goal late while Adrian was short-handed, taking over the Bulldogs' goal-scoring lead with six markers on the season.

= Max Milosek was charged with his first loss of the season (3-1-1) in the UWSP goal.

= Adrian was able to keep the Pointers' senior forward Jacob Barber off the scoresheet. He is their leading scorer with seven goals and 12 points.

= Adrian concludes its five-game homestand against St. Thomas-Minn. with a rare Sunday contest, with opening puckdrop at 2:05 p.m. The Bulldogs are officially 3-0 on this season-long stretch of home dates.
