Freshman Stalwarts Lead @ACBulldogHockey to Sweep of the Finlandia Lions on the Road, 4-1

HANCOCK, Mich.--The nationally-ranked Adrian College men's hockey team extended its unbeaten streak to nine games (8-0-1) with a 4-1 Northern Collegiate Hockey Association victory over host Finlandia University on Saturday. The Bulldogs won the weekend series by a combined score of 14-2.

TOP 'DAWGS
= Freshman Vinny Post had a goal and he assisted on another.

= Classmates Vincent Paquette, the reigning NCHA Offensive Player of the Week, and Joey Colatarci also scored for the Bulldogs.

= Junior goalie Dillon Kelley made 23 saves and is now 2-0 on the season.

= Junior alternate captain Taylor McCloy led the team with seven shots on goal--one of them finding the back of the net for his first of the season.

THE OPPOSITION
= Danny Hill netted his first goal of the season to put Finlandia on the scoreboard.

= Adam Valíček and Cody Wickstrom also registered points with an assist apiece.

Alec Rounds got the start in goal and stopped 36 of 40 shots he faced.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= Adrian outshot the Lions 40 to 24 and built a 4-0 advantage in the third period.

= McCloy staked Adrian to a 1-0 lead just 66 seconds into the evening. Senior Austin Hervey and junior Kyle Brothers were credited with assists.

= Up 1-0 in the second period, Post posted what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 4:04 mark when he took a feed from Austin Rust. Sophomore Brian Bachnak also had an assist on the play.

= Colatarci made it 3-0 on the power play with 3:58 remaining in the period. Freshman Tyler Currie and Post had assists.

= The teams traded goals in the third stanza. Paquette scored unassisted at 3:57 before Hill spoiled the shutout at the 7:00 mark.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian leads the all-time series over Finlandia 20-1, including 9-1 on the road. 

= Post has six points (4g, 2a) in three games after missing the first six due to injury.

= Paquette leads NCHA freshmen with seven goals, eight assists and 15 total points.

= The Bulldogs are tied for second (with Geneseo State) in NCAA Division III with 52 goals through 10 games.

= Adrian is 4-0 on the road this season--outscoring the opposition 25-7.

= With an assist today, Brothers moves past Ryan Gieseler (2011-15) into 13th place on the Adrian all-time chart with 57 career assists.
