Bryan Yim's Record Night Sparks @ACBulldogHockey to 12-2 Grounding of the CUW Falcons

Box Score

ADRIAN, Mich.--Freshman forward Bryan Yim scored a school-record four goals to power nationally-ranked Adrian College to a 12-2 victory Friday over Concordia University Wisconsin in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association South Division men's action.

THE BASICS

Final Score: No. 3 USCHO/No. 4 D3hockey Adrian 12, Concordia University Wisconsin 2

Location: Weston Rink at Arrington Ice Arena

Records: Adrian Bulldogs (18-3-1, 14-2-1 NCHA-S); CUW Falcons (10-10-2, 6-9-2 NCHA-S)

HOW IT HAPPENED

= Adrian outshot CUW 47 to 24, including a 14-4 margin in the first period while jumping to a 4-0 lead. The Bulldogs added three goals in the second and five more in the third.

= Senior Adam Davies celebrated his 100th career appearance in style by staking the Bulldogs to a 1-0 lead 7 minutes and 12 seconds into the game. He rifled a shot from the right point on some crisp passing by sophomores Taylor McCloy and Kyle Brothers.

= Yim finished with two assists for a six-point night. With Adrian already leading 3-0 late in the first period, Yim scored the game's next four goals over a 19:15 span into the second to put the Bulldogs in command at 7-0.

= The Bulldogs went 3-for-5 on the power-play and scored a shorthanded goal from Yim.

= Freshman Kevin Entmaa had 22 saves to improve to 10-0, as he is the nation's only unbeaten goalie in all NCAA men's divisions.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

= Yim tied Adrian's single-game goal-scoring record shared by Sam Kuzyk and Eric Miller against CUW on Feb 15 and 16, respectively, in 2008. His six points are the most by an AC skater since Eric Miller versus Lawrence University, Mar 5, 2011. The six points also ties a freshman record at the school. (By the way, his head coach Adam Krug '12 had a goal and five assists against CUW on Feb. 16, 2008.)

= The Bulldogs' 12 goals are a season high and the most since a 12-1 win at Northland on Nov. 3, 2012.

= Fifteen different Adrian skaters had at least one point. And eight had two or more.

= Freshman Cory Dunn tied a career high with four points (1g, 3a) from his defensive spot, and has 10 points in his last four contests.

= Brothers finished with three assists and junior Jeremy Olinyk, two.

= Adrian got eight points from defensemen.

THE OPPOSITION

= David Haaf led the visiting Falcons with two assists to bring his season total to seven.

= Braden Crone spoiled Entmaa's shutout bid at the 11:25 mark of the third period with a power-play goal. He leads CUW with nine goals and 20 points.

= Anthony Pickering added another power-play tally with 28 seconds remaining in the game.

= CUW was 2-for-4 with the man-advantage, but also allowed a shorthanded goal.

UP NEXT

= These same two teams meet here again at 3:05 p.m. Saturday. It's Adrian's final regular-season home game on Senior Day.

= The Bulldogs will honor captain Adam Davies, alternate captain Chris Leone, Pat George and Brent Sauve in a pregame ceremony.
