Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's hockey team swept No. 4 seed St. Scholastica in the NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals after a 4-0 win on Sunday at Arrington Ice Arena.
THE BASICS

FIRST PERIOD: SCORELESS
• Adrian edged St. Scholastica in faceoffs 9-7
• The Saints outshot the Bulldogs 8-6
• St. Scholastica went 0-for-2 in power plays; Adrian went 0-for-1
• Adrian had two great scoring chances: one from Kaylyn Schroka at the very beginning of the game that beat St. Scholastica goaltender, Lindsey Hartfiel, sailing over her right should and clanging off the post
• The second chance came when Adrian was shorthanded. Kristin Lewicki got the puck on a break away, but, Hartfiel read the play perfectly and made a glove save to keep the score knotted up at 0-0
SECOND PERIOD: BULLDOGS TAKE 1-0 LEAD
• Lewicki broke the dead lock with a goal, her 31st of the season, off the assist from Schroka and Sydney Smith with 9:48 left on the clock
• Adrian edged St. Scholastica in shots on goal for the period, 11-10, however the Saints were still ahead in the overall shot totals, 18-17
• Neither team was able to capitalize on the power play with the Bulldogs going 0-for-1 in the period, 0-for-2 for the whole game, and St. Scholastica going 0-for-3 in the period, 0-for-5 overall
THIRD PERIOD: ADRIAN SCORES THREE ADVANCES TO FINALS
• Lewicki scored her second goal of the game just 21 seconds into the third period to give the Bulldogs the 2-0 lead
• Bailey Robertson scored her first goal of the season off assists from Kortney Diaz and Lexie Tzafaroglou in the final five minutes of the period
• The Saints would pull their goalie for the extra attacker with a little over 2:30 remaining the game leaving the net open for Sarah Shureb to score the empty net goal and all but guarantee the Adrian victory
THE OPPOSITION
• Hartfiel stopped 25 of 28 shots that she faced
• The Saints went 0-for-4 on the power play and had four penalties for the game
