ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs scored two goals in the third period to tie the game 2-2 and force overtime. Michelle Jones scored the game-winning goal in the overtime period to earn Adrian the win. She also recorded an assist on game-tying goal in the third period.

St. Scholastica played Adrian tough for the entire game, holding the lead for the first two periods. Mac Johnson scored the first goal of the game in the first period. The Saints would hold onto the 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first period and all the way through the second period.

The Saints goaltender, Lindsey Hartfiel, was a big reason the team was in the lead. Coming into the third period the junior had stopped all 41 Bulldog shots.

St. Scholastica would strike first in the third period, scoring with 6:19 elapsed on the clock to build the lead to 2-0.

The Bulldogs would respond quickly when Lexie Tzafaroglou would score a power play goal to cut the Saint lead in half, 2-1. She was assisted on the goal by Brooke Lupi and Logan Taylor. The assist gives Taylor 28 on the season and breaking the Adrian College school record for assists in a game.

Adrian would score again when Olivia Ziemba put the puck in the net tie the game at 2-2 setting up the potential for a second straight overtime.

Both teams came out aggressive in the overtime period. With only seconds left the game appeared to be headed toward another tie when Bulldog Assistant Captain, Michelle Jones intercepted a pass in the Saints zone and scored an unassisted goal with just 30 ticks left on the clock to seal the victory for the Bulldogs.
