Box Score RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Kristin Lewicki and Sydney Smith each score one goal and one assist in the No. 2 Bulldogs 2-1 victory over sixth-ranked UW-River Falls.
Dani Kocina put the Falcons up 1-0 seven minutes and 52 seconds into the first period. That score would hold into the first intermission.
Adrian would tie the game in the second period when junior defender, Sydney Smith scored off an assist from teammates Brooke Lupi and Kristin Lewicki.
Lewicki would score a goal of her own just 23 seconds later on a Bulldog power play to put the Bulldogs on top 2-1. The score would hold into the final intermission.
The third period consisted of both teams playing aggressive defense. The Bulldogs only recorded one shot on goal in the period; the Falcons tallied eight shots on goal in the third.
Junior goaltender, Jade Walsh saved 30 of the 31 shots she faced in the game. The win brings her season record to 7-1-1.
Adrian went 1-for-6 on the power play for the game. Wisconsin River Falls went 0-for-5 with the man advantage.
The Bulldogs get this weekend off before they host fourth ranked (USCHO.com) Lake Forest on February 19 and 20 for the final two games of the season and a series that will decide which team of the two will receive the number one seed in the conference tournament.
