Sophomore Taylor McCloy Nets Pair of Goals in @ACBulldogHockey NCAA Loss to Wis.-Stevens Point

ADRIAN, Mich.--Nationally No. 3-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point defeated No. 1 Adrian College, 5-2, on Saturday to advance to the "frozen four" of the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship in Lake Placid, N.Y., next weekend.

FOR ADRIAN
= Sophomore Taylor McCloy potted both of the Bulldogs goals.

= Freshman defenseman Cory Dunn and sophomore left wing Kyle Brothers added assists.

= Freshman netminder Kevin Entmaa finished with 35 saves--one shy of his career high.

= Freshman center Connor Armour won 18 of 23 face-offs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
= McCloy staked Adrian to a 1-0 lead with his 12th goal of the season and first of the night. Junior defenseman Michael Hoy took advantage of a turnover and fed McCloy 3 minutes and 42 seconds into the stanza.

= The teams traded power-play goals later in the period, as Jonathan Davis tied it 2:04 later and McCloy netted his second with 50 seconds left.

= UWSP tied it 2-2 at 4:36 on a power-play tally by Lawrence Cornellier

= Jacob Barber scored the go-ahead goal with 11 seconds remaining in the second period as the Pointers took a 3-2 lead going into the third.

= Adrian pulled Entmaa for 1:20 in favor of an extra skater to try to get the equalizer and force overtime.

= The Pointers added two empty-net goals in the last 48 seconds to seal the win.

THE OPPOSITION
= Kyle Sharkey led all players with three points with a goal and two assists.

= Barber had two points, including an assist.

= Cornellier finished with two goals.

= Max Milosek stopped 40 shots and was credited with an assist.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Adrian was competing in its fourth NCAA tournament appearance in a row and sixth overall since it began play during the 2007-08 season. The Bulldogs made the semifinals last season and were the 2011 national runner-up.

= The Bulldogs' 62 minutes in penalties are the most since 2010 (55 at Oswego State, Jan 8, 2010) and fifth-most in school history.

= The teams combined for 21 infractions and 96 penalty-minutes.

= Entmaa became the last NCAA men's hockey goalie--any Division--to lose this season. He now stands at 14-1 in his 17-game career.

= UW-Stevens Point snapped the Bulldogs' 21-game winning and 24-game unbeaten streaks (23-0-1).
