HOW IT HAPPENED
Garrett Miller had the first good chance to score at the 16:35 mark of the first when a free kick from Zachary Roller bounced around in the box and Miller shot low toward the center of the net but Hope keeper, Blair McCormick (L, 3-5-2) made a great diving save to preserve the 0-0 tie.
Jordan Miller broke the scoreless tie in the 18th minute when he outran the defense and carried the ball into the box, shooting across the goal and beating McCormick to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.
The first half ended with the Flying Dutchmen tallying 10 shot attempts to the Bulldogs eight. Hope also edged Adrian in shots on goal (4-3) and corner kicks (5-1).
Hope cut the Adrian lead in half with a goal in the 63rd minute from Christian Dault. Dault split two defenders out the box and was able to smash a shot past Adrian goalkeeper Spencer Brown (W, 8-2-2) to put the Flying Dutch on the board. Hope kept the pressure on the Bulldogs but ran out of time before the equalizer could be scored.
