Box Score ADRIAN, Mich.--Adrian College couldn't fend off a fast start by the nationally-ranked Hope College women's basketball team in an 84-49 loss Saturday at the hands of the visiting Flying Dutch in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association encounter.

= Senior Starnisha Harris came off the bench to score an Adrian-high 11 points and sophomore Shannon Garvey added 10. The former added three assists.
= Garvey led Adrian with six rebounds.
= Sophomore Alivia Kondrath chipped in a career-high eight points in just 10 minutes off the bench.
THE OPPOSITION
= Kenedy Schoonveld scored a game-high 14 points as she was perfect from the floor: 4-of-4 from the field, 2-for-2 from three-point land and 4-for-4 at the free throw line.
= Francesca Buchanan posted a double-double of 12 points and a game-best 11 rebounds.
= Lauren Newman and Celina King matched Harris for game-high honors with three assists apiece.
= Jess Moorman contributed three steals and nine points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
= Hope raced out to a 25-7 lead after the first quarter, leading buzzer-to-buzzer.
= Sophomore Aly Kubik (8 points, 4 rebounds) tied the game 2-2 for Adrian, but then the Flying Dutch opened the game up with a 16-1 run over a span of almost seven minutes. Hope used a balanced offense with seven different scorers making baskets as the visitors took a commanding 18-3 lead at the 2:37 mark.
= The Flying Dutch shot 46.8 percent from the field (29-62) while holding the Bulldogs to 33.9 (20-59). The visitors, who are the top shooting three-point team in the MIAA, proved that today by making 11 of 24 treys for a 45.8 clip. Adrian, which came in leading the conference in three-point field goal percentage defense, shot only 3-for-17 from the perimeter.
= Adrian's 14 turnovers resulted in an 18-6 points off turnovers disadvantage.
= Hope's depth proved beneficial, outscoring Adrian 40 to 23.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
= Hope has won 42 straight meetings and now lead the all-time series over Adrian, 66-32.
= Garvey leads the Bulldogs in season scoring at 14.2 points per game, which is good for seventh place in the MIAA.
= The Flying Dutch become the seventh women's basketball team in NCAA history to record 800 victories.
