Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's volleyball team was beaten by Benedictine (Ill.) in three-straight sets on Saturday afternoon. Noah Marcinkowski led the Bulldogs with seven kills in the losing effort. The loss puts Adrian at 2-6 overall and in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set: Benedictine 25, Adrian 22
• Both teams recorded their best hitting percentages of the match in the opening set. Benedictine hit .344 and Adrian hit .100. As a result, the score stayed fairly close throughout the set, with neither team able to build a lead greater than four points.
• The Eagles were able to stay just ahead of Adrian at the end of the set to earn a 1-0 lead.
Second Set: Benedictine 25, Adrian 16
• Adrian came out with the lead at the start of the second set, 3-2. However, Benedictine scored four straight points to take a 6-3 lead. The Eagles would stay on top for the remainder of the set.
• The Bulldogs had a hitting percentage of .040 in the second set; Benedictine had a .333 percentage.

• The Eagles were able to capitalize on their chances in the third set while Adrian struggled on the attack, hitting -.214 for the set.

• Marcinkowski added four digs and a service ace to his team-leading seven kills.
• Avery Johnson and Michael Burkhardt each tallied four kills for Adrian. They each had two block assists as well.
• Kevin Curley had a team-high seven digs for the Bulldogs.
• Joseph Campana contributed 16 assists, three digs, and four block assists.
THE OPPOSITION
• Nick Malak led the Eagles with 11 kills.
• Markus Riemer set the offense with 32 assists and he also led the team in digs with eight.
• Zach Loeding had a match-high six block assists.
• Elijah Medlock finished with three service aces.

• The Bulldogs will travel to face Illinois Tech on Friday, February 24 at 6:00 p.m. That match is the first of four straight road games for Adrian.
