Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College Bulldogs scored two goals in the first and second period to take the game one of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Slaats Cup Semifinals 4-0 over visiting Marian University on Friday night at Arrington Ice Arena. Brooke Lupi (1+1=2), Sydney Smith (0+2=2), and Sarah Shureb (0+2=2) led the Bulldogs in scoring.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period: Adrian 2, Marian 0
• Kelly O'Sullivan (1+0=1) scored first in the game. Her goal, the game winner, was on a Bulldog power play at the 13:55 mark of the opening period. She was assisted by Shureb and Lupi.
• Lupi scored in the final minute before the first intermission to put Adrian up 2-0 going into the locker room. Smith and Shelly Czarnowczan (0+1=1) assisted on the goal.
• The Bulldogs dictated play for most of the first period, outshooting the Sabres 21-6 in the first period.
Second & Third Period: Adrian 4, Marian 0
• Kristin Lewicki (1+0=1) scored in the opening 10 minutes of the second period to give Adrian a commanding, 3-0 lead. Rose Krasofsky (0+1=1) and Shureb were on the assists.
• Lexie Tzafaroglou (0+1=1) finished off the game's scoring, putting the puck in the net on a power play at the 14:05 mark of the second. Smith and Kristi Zink (0+1=1) assisted on the play.
• The Bulldogs dominated the shots category in all three periods for a final tally of 54-15 in shots on goal.
• Adrian was 2-7 (28.6%) on the power play; Marian was 0-4.
TOP DOGS
• O'Sullivan (GWG), Lupi, Lewicki, and Tzafaroglou each scored a goal for the Bulldogs.

• Kaylyn Schroka was 18-27 in the faceoff circle.
• Jade Walsh (W, 13-1-0) saved all 15 shots she faced to record her third shutout of the season.
THE OPPOSITION
• Emily Everson led the Sabres with four shots on goal.
• Paige Johnson (9-21) and Hailey Miller (8-19) were the primary face-off specialists for Marian.
• Goalie Lindsey Strainis (L, 10-20-1) prevented the score from being even more lopsided, saving an unbelievable 50 shots that she faced in the game.

• Game Two of the NCHA Slaats Cup Semifinals is tomorrow (Sat., Feb. 25) at 7:00 p.m.
