Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's hockey team advanced to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Slaats Cup Finals after a 5-1 win over Marian in game two of the Semifinals on Saturday night. Kaylyn Schroka led the Bulldogs with a 2+2=4 scoring line that included a game-winning short handed goal in the first period of play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Period: Adrian 2, Marian 0
- Sarah Shureb put the first point on the board for the Bulldogs at the 12:58 mark of the opening period. Kaylyn Schroka and Maggie Mitter assisted on the goal.
- Just over two minutes later, Schroka put the puck in the net on her first of two goals on the night. Brooke Lupi and Lexie Tzafaroglou assisted on the play.
- Adrian tallied 18 shots on goal for the period while holding Marian to only four.
Second Period: Adrian 4, Marian 0
- Rose Krasofsky scored off assists from Sydney Smith and Kristi Zink in the opening five minutes of the second period to put the Bulldogs up 3-0.
- Schroka scored her second goal of the game on the power play with 6:12 remaining before the second intermission. Tzafaroglou and Lupi assisted on the goal.
- Both teams increased the volume of their shots on goal from first period with Adrian getting 21 shots on goal and the Sabres recording 10.
Third Period: Adrian 5, Marian 1
- Ally Fox put Marian on the board with a goal off an assist from Emily Everson just 2:33 into the final period. The goal cut the Adrian lead to three goals, 4-1.
- Kristin Lewicki would put the final point on the board with 14:40 remaining in regulation to bring the Bulldog lead back to four goals, 5-1. Schroka, recorded her second assist of the game and Shureb's first on the play.
- The Sabres outshot the Bulldogs in the third, 10-6, but Adrian won the shooting battle 45-24.
- Adrian finished the contest going 2-7 (28.6%) on the power play; Marian was 0-5.
TOP DOGS
- Schroka added five shots on goal and went 9-17 in faceoffs on top of her four points.
- Shureb (1+1=2) had four shots on goal and a +1.
- Lupi (0+2=2) was 9-16 in the faceoff circle and had a team-high six shots on goal.
- Brooke Gibson (W, 12-1-0) made 23 saves and only one goal against.
THE OPPOSITION
- Fox (1+0=1) scored the lone goal for the Sabres and went 1-2 on faceoffs with two shots on goal.
- Everson (0+1=1) had a game-high eight shots on goal.
- Lindsey Strainis (L, 8-12-1) saved 40 of the 45 shots she faced.
