Lupi Scores Two Goals, Leads Bulldogs to 5-1 Win at St. Scholastica

DULUTH, Minn. - The Adrian College women's hockey team scored five goals in a convincing 5-1 win at St. Scholastica. Brooke Lupi scored two goals to lead the Bulldogs to the win. Sarah Shureb scored the game-winning goal, her third of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Period: Adrian 2, St. Scholastica 0

• Adrian took a 1-0 lead off an opening goal by Lupi at the 8:04 mark of the first period. She was assisted on the play by Courtney Tyll.

• Shureb scored in the final 15 seconds of the period to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.

• Adrian edged St. Scholastica in shots on goal 15-12 in the opening period.

Second Period: Adrian 3, St. Scholastica 1

• Sydney Smith and Kelly O'Sullivan opened the second period by assisting Lupi on her second goal of the night at the 7:33 mark.

• The Saints Sierra Hanowski scored a goal that cut the Adrian lead to two goals, 3-1. Emily Stegora and Sami Anderson assisted on the goal.

• The Bulldogs registered 14 shots on goal for the period (29 total through two periods). St. Scholastica had nine in the second for a total of 21 through two.

Third Period: Adrian 5, St. Scholastica 1

• Tyll had her second assist of the game in the third period, assisting on a goal by Lexie Tzafaroglou to give the Bulldogs a 4-1 lead with less than five minutes remaining.
