HOW IT HAPPENED
= The game was much closer than the final score appeared as Adrian peppered Marian in shots on goal, 47 to 19, and the Sabres added two power-play, empty-net goals in the final 50 seconds.

= After a scoreless first period, Anthony Orubor put Marian up 1-0 early in the second period when his snap shot found the inside of the left post. Monfils and Shawn Brennan assisted on the play.

= Then 3 minutes later, Cross stretched the Sabres' lead to 2-0 unassisted. He collected a loose puck on the right side boards at his blue line and skated past Adrian defenders for a breakaway.

= Adrian cut the deficit in half at 8:01 of the second period as Yim pounced on a rebound after Coykendall's shot from the left point.

= Adrian pulled the goalie for much of the final 1 minute and 30 seconds trying to force overtime with an equalizing goal, but got one shot off. Marian iced the win with two empty-net tallies while on the power play.
