Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team edged Trine 70-67 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 7-3 in conference play to remain on tied for first in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings. Justin Webster tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds for his 10th double-double this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Trine took a 7-2 lead after two made free throws from Adrian started the game. The Thunder pushed the lead to nine points before the Bulldogs went on a 16-0 run to recapture the lead, 20-15, with 11:01 remaining in the opening half. Adrian's lead would grow to five (22-17) before Trine would retake the lead, 26-24 with 6:44 left on the clock.
The Bulldogs would respond with a 6-0 run to take the lead 33-28 with 3:18 left before halftime. The teams would trade three-point jumpers and Pete Smith would finish the half with a layup that cut the Bulldog lead to only three points as the teams went into the locker rooms.
Sam Colbert hit a three-point jumper to begin the second half, pushing the Adrian lead to six points. Smith would respond with his own three that would spark a 9-0 run for the Thunder and give Trine the lead back, 47-41 with just over 15 minutes left in regulation.
Tre'Shon Heard hit a layup through contact and was fouled, making the free throw and cutting the deficit to just three-points and ignited a 9-0 run for Adrian that gave the team a 50-47 lead with 11:51 left in the second half.
The Bulldogs grew their lead to nine points (62-53) with just under eight minutes to play. The Thunder would use two small runs of five straight points to cut the Adrian lead to just one point, 64-63, with 5:13 remaining on the clock. With a deficit of three points, Myles Copeland made four free throws to give Trine a 67-66 lead with just over 2:30 left to play.
Webster drained a layup to retake the lead by one, 68-67, and would make a second to seal the win for the Bulldogs with just 15 seconds remaining.
TOP DOGS
• Webster added five assists and a steal to his double-double on the afternoon.
• Colbert made five of eight attempts from beyond the arc to help score a career-high 19 points. He also hauled in five rebounds and tallied a block.
• Jordan Harris scored 10 points while tallying three assists and three steals. He also pulled down a board.
THE OPPOSITION
• Pete Smith led the Thunder with a game-high 24 points. He also dished six assists and had a steal.
• Copeland recorded 22 points and seven rebounds.
• Maurice Hunter had a game-high 15 rebounds.
UP NEXT
Adrian will travel to face Hope on Wednesday, February 7, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m., ET. Hope is one of the teams tied with the Bulldogs at the top of the MIAA standings with a record of 7-3. Adrian was victorious over the Flying Dutchmen earlier this season, 74-63.
