ROSSFORD, Ohio--Senior Kayla Clark earned all-tournament at the 2019 Bowling Green State University Falcons Classic last weekend, when the Adrian College women's bowling squad finished fifth out of 17 schools. The Bulldogs knocked down 6,254 total pins.
For the five individual games, the team started slow with a 729 series. Then the 'Dogs started to up their second set with an 842. The last three sets were well-deserved with an 897, 869 and an 885. For the baker sets, they had the fourth highest total of all the teams, averaging 170 or 2032 total.
Individually, senior Kayla Clark bowled all five games while producing a total of 1003, averaging 200.6. Clark picked up her series from game three, throwing a 243, 219 and a 235. Clark finished in third place out of 118 bowlers. She earns first all-tournament citation of the year and second for her collegiate career.
Freshman Abigail Bird also did well for the team, bowling a 915 series for five games and averaging 183. Bird finished in 16th place. Senior Jordyn Stone bowled an 883 for five games, averaging 176.6. Stone finished in 22nd place. Junior Erica Jones bowled four games for the Bulldogs, helping the team individual score. Freshman Jessica Brainerd came in for games three to five. Sophomore Brittney Passmore came in during the fifth game to help the team finish out its individual series games. Sophomores Kylie Middleton and Kailee Treloar also came into play during team individual games.
Alma edged Wright State by eight pins in Bakers (2149-2141) to take the team title by a wide margin overall.
Adrian hits the lanes again this Saturday for the Toledo Rockets Classic.
