ADRIAN, Mich.--The Adrian College women's bowling team turned in its second top-3 finish already of the season in the No. 3 position at the 10-team Bulldogs Open, which opened the month of November (Saturday, 2nd) and was contested at the Lenawee Recreation Center. Adrian rolled 6,000 pins in the tournament, which had a format of four individual game sets and four sets of bakers.
Adrian was able to start off well throwing an 859. They slowed down a little throwing an 803 game two of individuals. They threw an 823 and 856 for the third and fourth individual sets. The baker sets started strong against the competition with a 698. In the final three baker sets, the Bulldogs had a 683, 669 and 610. They finished the day with a third-place finish.
Individually, senior Jordyn Stone was able to throw a 726 series for four games, averaging 181.5. Stone came in third place out of 75 bowlers, earning her first all-tournament team honors of the season and the third of her career.
Right behind Stone was freshman Abigail Bird throwing a 705 series for four games and seventh place overall. Junior Erica Jones threw a 672 series for four games, placing 13th. Senior Kayla Clark, sophomore Kylie Middleton and freshmen Jessica Brainerd and Megan Staley also contributed to the Bulldogs' score. Brainerd threw a 170 game as her only recorded game of the tournament in the fourth individual set.
Alma College took first place with Judson taking second.
