TOLEDO, Ohio – The Adrian College women's bowling team rolled a 6,400 pinfall over the weekend at the Toledo Classic to finish in sixth place out of 10 teams. The format for this tournament was four individual games and 16 bakers.
For the four individual team games, the Bulldogs started off strong with a 961 to pace the field at the time. Then they followed that opening set with a 920, 909 and 913. They were sitting in fourth after the individual sets. After their baker sets, they moved down two spots to settle in sixth place.
The tournament leader was Lourdes University. Second place was Spring Arbor and third place was Wright State.
Individually, sophomore Kylie Middleton threw a 207, 212, 210 and 218 series of 847 for her four games. She averaged 211.75, putting her into third place individually and as a result, earned an all-tournament team award for her top-five finish. This was Middleton's first of her career. Senior Jordyn Stone threw a 744 for four games, averaging 186. She placed 13th overall. Freshman Abigail Bird threw a 734 for four games, averaging 183.5 and placing 18th. Junior Erica Jones threw a 718 for four games, averaging 179.5, to earn 22nd. For her final tournament as a collegiate bowler, senior Kayla Clark bowled a 660 series, placing her in 33rd. She will be graduating later this month.
Adrian will be back in action in January as the Bulldogs get ready for the first tier one event of the season, the Kegel/ISPBA Classic on the 18-19.
