Women's Hockey Has 10 Named NCHA All-Academic

DULUTH, Minn. – The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) released its 2018-19 All-Academic selections on Thursday, Feb. 21 and 10 members of the Adrian College women's hockey team were named to the team this year, the most of any women's team. Six Bulldogs are two time selections to the team.

Senior captain Tory Harshman leads the six two-time selections for AC, joined by fellow senior Hannah Dalrymple. The juniors that were named to the All-Academic Team for the second time are Brianna Buchanan, Maggie Mitter, Kelly O'Sullivan, and Anna Shepherd.

All of Adrian's first-time selections are sophomores, the minimum class standing needed to be considered for the award. The Black and Gold's four sophomores to earn the award were Sydney Daversa, Mia Glassco, Neysa Miller, and Brooke Schembri.

Harshman was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs this year, finishing the regular season with 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points. Mitter and Schembri are tied for third in points, with 20, and Buchanan and O'Sullivan are right behind them with 19 each. Dalrymple was the last of the All-Academics will double digit points, heading into the postseason with 12 points. Daversa totaled eight points and Miller had seven in the regular season while the defenseman Shepherd notched four points in 24 games. Glassco played in four games in net, winning all four and picking up two shutouts. She's only allowed two goals in 244:29 of playing time and has compiled a .960 SV% and 0.49 GAA.

Aurora, Concordia-Wisconsin, and Trine tied for the second-most selections with eight, followed by Marian and Northland with seven each. Finlandia and Lake Forest had five players selected and St. Scholastica had four. Adrian's first round opponent in the Slaats Cup Playoffs – St. Norbert – tallied two selections.

The Bulldogs host the Green Knights for a two-game series this weekend with a trip to the Slaats Cup Semifinal/Championship Weekend on the line. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
