Final Score: Adrian 3, Trine 1 (25-23, 21-25, 29-27, 25-20)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Trine had a small lead in the beginning of the match, but Adrian took control halfway through with a 10-2 run to go up 19-14. The Bulldogs held off the Thunder's attempts to tie the set and finished them off, 25-23 on a kill from senior Michael Burkhardt.

The Thunder started out strong again in the second set, doubling up AC, 16-8. Despite Adrian's best efforts to claw back into the set, the Black and Gold just couldn't find a way to do it and lost the set, 21-25, leveling the match at one set apiece.

It was much closer in the third set, with the teams trading points in the early goings of the set. Whenever one team started to pull away the other team was there to match them. Trine was on set point, 24-21, when Adrian rattled off four straight points to put the Bulldogs one point from winning the match, 25-24. From there the teams traded points until AC won two in a row to take the set 29-27 and take a 2-1 advantage in the match.

Adrian controlled the first set in the beginning, going up 12-6 on Trine early. The Thunder quickly picked up six points of their own to fight back and tie the set. This didn't phase the Bulldogs one bit, as the Black and Gold kept trucking on the way to a 25-20 win in the set, with match point earned on a Burkhardt kill.
