FOND DU LAC, Wis. -- The Adrian College men's volleyball team traveled to Marian University in Wisconsin where they were defeated by the Marian Sabres. Adrian was forced to five sets after leading 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Set one started with Marian jumping out to a 6-0 lead. Adrian responded by getting on the board, but another run from Marian put the Bulldogs behind 15-5. Adrian trailed the whole set and fell 25-17.

The Bulldogs started hot in set two with a 4-0 lead. Marian then went on a run to take the lead by one at 10-9. Adrian went on another 4-0 run led by attack errors to take a three-point lead and force a timeout. The Bulldogs trailed 19-18 but scored on the next four serves and eventually won set two 25-21.

Adrian trailed for most of set three when they were down 16-13. After an attack error from Adrian's Tedrick Gula to trail 20-16, Adrian went on an 8-1 run to lead 24-21. A kill from Noah Marcinkowski sealed the set for the Bulldogs as they won 25-22.

After leading the match 2-1, Marian came away with set four 25-23 to force a fifth set. Adrian trailed 10-5 is set five but started to chip away and cut the Marian lead to three. After back-to-back kills from Marcinkowski and Gula to put the score at 13-10, the Sabres scored to give them match point. Marian finished the set with a kill and won set five 15-11.
