Bulldogs Tie Team Record for Most Consecutive Shutouts with 4-0 Win.

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's hockey team hosted the St. Norbert Green Knights in the team's regular season finale. The Bulldogs honored eight seniors during the pregame senior day ceremony. The seniors that were honored were Anna Shepherd, Brianna Buchanan, Maggie Mitter, Kelly O'Sullivan, Jacqueline White, Nicole Guagliardo, Rylee Bates, and Lexi Grunden. The senior class completed their last home regular season game with a 4-0 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bulldogs got on the board early with a goal in the first period from Une Bjelland. Brooke Schembri and Jessica VonRuden added assists on the play.

Halfway through the second period, Adrian struck again on a goal from Buchanan to lead 2-0. Guagliardo and White recorded assists on the second period goal.

With a 2-0 lead heading into the third period, the Bulldogs were not done scoring. Buchanan netted her second goal of the game off passes from Reaghan Pietrowski and O'Sullivan to lead 3-0. Buchanan completed the hat trick five minutes later with another goal. Schembri picked up her second assist of the game and Bates added a point to her season total with an assist.

Denisa Jandova stopped 17 shots on goal to complete the shutout which marks her fourth consecutive shutout. The Bulldogs have tied the team record for most consecutive shutouts. Adrian had four straight shutouts in the 2018-19 season with back-to-back shutouts over Northland and back-to-back shutouts over Trine.

UP NEXT

The Bulldogs will take next weekend off and return to action in the NCHA Slaats Cup Quarterfinals. The Bulldogs await the NCHA final standings, but will host the quarterfinals starting on Friday, February 28 and 7:00 PM.
