Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's hockey team defeated the St. Norbert Green Knights in the NCHA Quarterfinals to advance to the NCHA Tournament Championship game. With the No. 1 seed in the tournament and a first round series win, the Bulldogs will receive a bye in the semifinal round. Adrian shutout the Green Knights by a score of 5-0 in Saturday's game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
St. Norbert battled with the Bulldogs to start the game. With just under three minutes to play in the first period, Nicole Guagliardo netted a goal to take a 1-0 lead. Une Bjelland and Brianna Buchanan picked up assists on the play. Not much time passed after the first goal celebration as Brooke Schembri found the back of the net to lead 2-0. Lexi Grunden and Jacqueline White made the assists on the goal.
With a 2-0 lead in the second period, the Bulldogs were not done scoring. Reaghan Pietrowski added to the action with another Adrian goal to extend the lead to 3-0. Kelly O'Sullivan picked up her 84th career assist on the play and Julia Barrett added an assist as well.
The scoring wasn't done as the Bulldogs and Green Knights headed into the last 20 minutes of play. Lindsey Sorrell found the netting to lead 4-0, and Brooke Schembri scored her second goal of the game to take a 5-0 lead and seal the win.
Denisa Jandova improved to 16-3-3 on the season as she faced 14 shots and stopped all 14.

The Bulldogs await the winner of the NCHA semifinal game on Friday, March 6 at the Arrington Ice Arena. Lake Forest and secured its spot but await an opponent after the quarterfinal matchup between Aurora and St. Scholastica on Sunday, March 1.
