Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's volleyball team was defeated by the Siena Heights Saints in five sets. Adrian took an early 1-0 lead, but Siena responded with back-to-back set wins to lead 2-1. Adrian won set four to force a fifth set but fell in five sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Siena Heights trailed 8-6 early but went on a 6-0 run to lead 12-6 in set one. The Bulldogs brought their lead to seven and led 20-13. Mason Hostetler finished the set with a kill to win set one 25-18.
Adrian trailed 10-6 in set two until Siena Heights took its lead to eight points after back-to-back service aces. After a kill by Noah Marcinkowski, the Bulldogs trailed by five. Siena Heights took set two 25-18.
Siena Heights and Adrian traded points until the Bulldogs took a 14-11 lead. The Saints went on a 5-1 run to bring the deficit to within one. Adrian regained its three-point lead to go up 24-22, but Siena Heights finished the set on a 4-0 run to take a 2-1 match lead.
The Bulldogs looked to force a fifth set and put themselves in a chance to win the match. Adrian led 13-8 early in the set with the help of a pair of kills from Marcinkowski. A kill from Hostetler and Lucas Rusnak gave the Bulldogs a 23-17 lead. Marcinkowski and Peyton Doelling finished the set with kills to tie the match 2-2.
Adrian brought the energy early in set five as they were up 10-6. Siena Heights fought back to tie the set and eventually led 16-15. Each team reached match point, but Siena grabbed the advantage and came away with an 18-16 set five win to win the match 3-2.
