Women's Rugby Goes Undefeated in Three Matches at Earlham

10/2/2021 8:22:00 PM

RICHMOND, Ind. - On Saturday, the Adrian women's rugby team turned in its most successful weekend of the season, winning three out of three matches at Earlham College against three different opponents.

GAME 1 | Adrian 10, Ohio Wesleyan 7

The first match of the day saw the Bulldogs get revenge against the same team that had defeated them back on September 26 in Delaware, Ohio.

Maddie Williamson got Adrian on the board in the opening minute, but the Battling Bishops answered back to take a 7-5 lead. Alyssa Luzhow, however, found the go-ahead try for the black and gold in the final moments of the first half, and the scoreline would hold through the second half en route to an Adrian victory.

GAME 2 | Adrian 14, IUPUI 5

In the second match of the day, the locals posted 14 unanswered points after falling behind 5-0 early.

The Jags scored first to go up 5-0. Daniyah Green would counter later in the first half, and with a Williamson conversion, the Bulldogs claimed the lead.

In the second half, Green added a second try, and Williamson contributed another successful conversion to ice the game for Adrian.

GAME 3 | Adrian 35, Earlham 7

For the second time in as many meetings, the Bulldogs corralled a convincing win against Earlham. In this edition, Adrian went off for 35 straight points on their way to a 35-7 result over the Quakers.

After the home side went in front 7-0, the 'Dogs saw tries from Andrea Leach-King, Anais Melendrez, Shyann Ronning, and Luzkow to propel them to a perfect day.

The Bulldogs next are scheduled to challenge Alderson Broaddus University on October 16
