HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Adrian College football team looked to keep its winning streak alive with a road win at Hope College, but fell short as the Flying Dutchman came away with a 19-7 victory. The Bulldogs fall to 4-4 (2-2 MIAA) on the season.
Hope got on the board early in the first after recovering a fumble by Adrian. Hope scored on a 10-yard touchdown pass, but missed the extra point and led 6-0. It took until the second quarter for Adrian to strike as they took a 7-6 lead on a 58-yard rushing touchdown from
Steven Moses. Hope scored later in the quarter to lead 13-7 at half.
The Bulldogs had an opportunity early in the second half, but a fumble from inside the 10 eliminated the opportunity. Hope went on to score with under two minutes to play in the game to pull ahead and with 19-7.
Adrian recorded 281 yards of total offense led by Moses who rushed for 168 yards.
Jimerie Cannon recorded two interceptions in the game and three pass breakups on defense to go with three tackles.
Sam Madrid led the defense with ten tackles and nine solo.
Donovan McCary also recorded an interception in the game.
The Bulldogs will have a bye week next week and return to action on Saturday, November 6 at Docking Stadium against Olivet College. Prior to the 1:00 PM kickoff, Adrian will honor the senior classes from the football team, cheer team, dance team, and band.
