Men's Soccer to host Olivet in Season Finale

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian men's soccer team will take the pitch for the final time this season on Wednesday evening, drawing an end to the careers of two Bulldog seniors, who will be recognized prior to kick-off.

The final opponent of the 2021 campaign for the black and gold are the Comets of Olivet College.

Also taking part in their regular-season finale, the Comets (3-10-1, 1-4-1 MIAA) are hoping to clinch their first road win of the season, while Adrian, on the other hand, will look to seal the season's first win at home.

Olivet has struggled offensively as of recent, notching only three goals in the month of October.

The team's leading scorer, Joshua Rosendale is responsible for two of those tallies, bringing his season total to five. Only four other Comets have contributed goals for Olivet, each posting one goal each.

Dominik Burmeister sits at second on the team's line-up with four points on one goal and two assists.

In goal, the Comets have worked with five different goalkeepers, including Andrew Aragon, who actively leads the five with 47 saves on a 0.691 save-percentage. The senior has been credited with two of Olivet's three victories, serving over 700 minutes between the posts.

The Bulldogs (2-13-2, 0-6-0 MIAA) are in search of a high note to end their season on after dropping a narrow, 1-0 result to Alma this past Saturday.

Brian Politi became the tenth different goal scorer for Adrian last week at Trine, dropping an unassisted tally in the first half against the Thunder.

The leading scorers for the locals continue to be Justin Sarka and Dante Perri, who have pushed home four goals and two goals, respectively.

All told, the Bulldogs have garnered points from twelve different players.

Goalkeeper, Alex Brock has consistently paced the MIAA in total saves during the 2021 season, currently sitting with 87 on a 0.744 save-percentage and 2.32 goals-against average.

As mentioned previously, Adrian will be honoring two senior members of the men's soccer team prior to Wednesday's kick-off, which is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Docking Stadium.

Live stats and video will be available.
