ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College men's soccer team took on No. 21 Calvin University at home on Saturday afternoon in the second MIAA match of the season. Adrian struggled during the match and lost to the Knights 7-0.
Calvin jumped on the board in the 18th minute to lead 1-0 followed by an Adrian own goal ten minutes later. The Knights totaled two more goals to head into the half up 4-0. Calvin went on to score three more in the second half to come away with the 7-0 win.
The Bulldogs had opportunities on a pair of corner kicks during the match, but couldn't find the netting. Adrian totaled four shots with two landing on target while Calvin racked up 23 shots with 15 on goal.
Jackson Vacca compiled eight saves on the afternoon in goal for Adrian.
Braiden Hamilton recorded two shots on the day with one on goal while
Brian Politi and Aidan Leline recorded shots as well.
Brady Musser,
Justin Sarka, and Hamilton played all 90 minutes on attack during the match.
Adrian returns to competition on Wednesday, October 13 at 7:00 PM on the road at Kalamazoo College.
