PLYMOUTH, Mich. -- The Adrian College NCAA men's hockey team took on the USA U18 NTDP team on the road in an exhibition on Friday night. The Bulldogs battled late, but couldn't get the job done falling 4-3.

Rex Moe started the scoring for Adrian with just over two minutes played in the game to take an early lead. Chase Spencer recorded an assist. USA answered with a goal two minutes later and another goal just over halfway through the first period to lead 2-1.

USA scored again in the second period to take a 3-1 lead heading into the third period. 

Early in the final period, Zach Heintz scored for Adrian to put them within one on a pass from Sam Ruffin. USA scored three minutes later to reclaim the two goal advantage. Ruffin scored on a power play on an assist from Hunter Wendt to put Adrian within one again, but couldn't find the net again to tie the game. 

Cameron Gray made his first start of the season for Adrian and faced 43 shots on goal, and made 39 saves.

The Bulldogs will open up NCHA conference play on the road on Friday, November 12 as they travel to Marian University in Wisconsin for a two game series. Friday's game is scheduled for 8:30 PM EST. followed by a 5:30 PM EST. puck drop on Saturday.
