ADRIAN, Mich. - This afternoon, the Adrian men's basketball team hits the hardwood one last time before the holiday break, traveling to Sylvania, Ohio to challenge Lourdes University.
The Gray Wolves (8-3, 3-3 WHAC), products of the NAIA's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference, are winners of three-straight coming into today, and have yet to be defeated on their home court or in non-conference play.
While averaging a conference-best 90.5 points per contest, Lourdes also boasts the NAIA's sixth-best field goal percentage at 52.3 percent, largely behind the efforts of Joey Holifield, who currently leads the WHAC with a 65.2 percent showing from the field.
The sophomore has recorded double-figures in scoring in each of his 11 appearances this season en route to 17.5 points per game, and is one of five on the Gray Wolves' roster to sport a double-digit scoring average.
Nick Welch, another one of those players, stands as the conference's leading rebounder with 10.0 boards per outing.
Elsewhere on the Lourdes' line-up, McRay White leads the team with 12 blocks, while Brett Lauf has dished out a team-best 59 assists.
As for Adrian (1-7), the Bulldogs are still in search of their first win away from home this season after dropping their most recent road game at Otterbein on December 1.
Connor Pelham continues to be the black and gold's primary contributor on offense, ranking fifth in the MIAA in points per game (17.3), and fifth in rebounds per game (9.5). He also paces the locals with 11 total steals.
The fifth-year senior has cracked the 20-point threshold three times this season, including in the 'Dogs' last contest versus Case Western Reserve on December 4.

P'hariz Watkins, who are averaging 14.3 and 11.1 points per outing, respectively. Furthermore, the duo have combined for 45 total rebounds, 29 total assists and 15 total steals.
Freshman
Kendall Chrismon, who turned in a personal-best 17 points against the Spartans at the beginning of the month, ranks third in the conference with a 58.1 shooting percentage from the floor.
Today's meeting between the Bulldogs and the Gray Wolves will the be the first all-time, and will tip-off at 5 p.m.
