Men's Soccer Resumes Road Trip with Three Stops this Week

ADRIAN, Mich. – The early-season road trip continues on for the Adrian men's soccer team. This week, the boys venture Fort Wayne, Indiana; Rochester Hills, Michigan and Spring Arbor, Michigan.

The Bulldogs' time away from Adrian began this past Saturday, September 11 at Wittenberg. Neither side could find the back of the net, resulting in a 0-0 draw after two overtime periods.

The black and gold (1-3-1) are led in scoring by Dante Perri and Justin Sarka, each with two goals on three shots on goal.

Gary Davison, Aaron Kennedy and Alfonso Chirco have also contributed one goal each for Adrian.

Alex Brock, who has started in all five matches between the posts for the 'Dogs, has stopped 28 shots. The sophomore's save percentage is at 0.718 entering the week, having completed over 400 minutes of action in goal.

The first match of week comes on Wednesday against the University of Saint Francis (Ind.). The Cougars (3-2-1) are winners of three in-a-row, all by means of shutouts.

Their most recent victory, a 4-0 defeat of Moody Bible, saw two goals from Reitumeste Malaste. He and Elmar Martinez have both notched two scores for Saint Francis this season.

The Cougars have also seen contributions on the scorecard from five other goal scorers, including freshman, Marco Marclay who has additionally chipped in an assist.

Then, on Friday, Adrian returns to Michigan to visit Rochester (1-2).

The Warriors are coming off of a 4-0 loss at the hands of Saginaw Valley State, and will host Grace Christian on Tuesday before welcoming the Bulldogs.

Two of Rochester's three goals on the season have come from the foot of Dmitar Stankovic. His four total shots are also a team-high.

Lastly, on Saturday, the Bulldogs move up to Spring Arbor to challenge the Cougars (2-3-1).

Spring Arbor last played to a 0-0 tie against Kalamazoo on Monday, and will host Lawrence Tech on Wednesday before taking on Adrian.

Trevor Kacou and Lirim Shefkiu pace the Cougars in scoring with two goals and one assist each, while Kacou has produced a team-high 11 shots.

Goalkeeper, Christopher Banfi is riding a 0.667 save percentage after Monday's contest with the Hornets, and has stopped 18 total shots through five matches this season.
