Men's Soccer Will Look to Build off of Season's First Win this Week

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Bulldogs' men's soccer team is back in Adrian this week after splitting a weekend of matches in Louisville. The locals dropped a 5-0 decision to fourth-ranked Centre College before rebounding with a 5-1 defeat of Berea.

This week opens at Docking Stadium on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. against the Yellow Jackets of Defiance. It will be the first meeting between the two sides since September 13, 2014, in which Adrian won in overtime, 2-1.

Freshman, Dante Perri notched a pair of goals this past Saturday against the Wolverines, his first two goals of his young career. Fellow first-year, Gary Davison contributed two points in the same match, including one goal and one assist.

Between the posts, sophomore, Alex Brock has turned in a 0.719 save percentage over three starts for Adrian, stopping 23 total shots.

Tuesday evening's opposition is still in search of its first win of the 2021 campaign after falling to Wooster, 1-0 this past Sunday.

Through three games, Erdwin Quintana has tallied the only goal of the season for Defiance. The sophomore, forward leads the Yellow Jackets with eight total shots.

On Saturday, the black and gold retake the road against Wittenberg. The Bulldogs have won each of the last two meetings with the Tigers, outscoring their opponent 3-1 during that span.

Wittenberg is rolling off a 6-0 win over Penn State Altoona on Saturday, and will be competing at Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday prior to the match with Adrian.

Sophomore, Logan Evens recorded a hat-trick against the Nittany Lions, while senior, Eli Esterline has produced two goals and two assists on 12 shots.

Adrian and Wittenberg are schedule to kick off on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Edwards-Maurer Field in Springfield, Ohio.

Live stats will be available for both matches, while live video will only be available for Tuesday's match versus Defiance.
