ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's rugby team had another successful weekend with a blowout win over Aquinas College. With the 64-23 victory, the Bulldogs moved up two spots in the NCR Top-20 Poll and now sit ranked No. 12. With the win, the Bulldogs moved to 3-1 on the season and are 2-0 in the Big Rivers Conference.
The Bulldogs spaced out the scoring among the team.
Macgregor Adams finished the day with a pair of tries against Aquinas along with two from
Jerred Welt and
Petelo Vatuvei.
Michael Pakofe,
Quinn Murray, Tajay Myles, and
Sione Mamata all added a try.
Adams finished the day with six successful conversions for Adrian while Bautista Robledo added a conversion.
"On attack, we didn't run our structure, but pure athleticism won the game for us," said head coach
Benny Mateialona. "It is nice to see us move up in the rankings, but we still aren't satisfied."
The Bulldogs have a tough contest ahead as they host Iowa Central Community College on Friday, October 7 at 7:00 PM. Friday's games will be a Breast Cancer Awareness Game where fans can support the fight against breast cancer by purchasing pink Adrian College apparel.
