ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College football team completed its season on Saturday afternoon at Docking Stadium. The Bulldogs hosted Olivet College who came into Saturday's game leading the MIAA in total offense with 457.7 yards per game. Adrian went on to shutout the Comets by a score of 28-0.
Olivet got the ball to start the game, but the first drive was cut short as
Waides Ashmon intercepted a pass on the third play of the game to take the ball to the Olivet two-yard line.
Steven Moses picked up the first score of the game on a 2-yard rush to lead 6-0. The Bulldogs went for the two-point conversion as was successful giving them an 8-0 lead.
Later in the first quarter,
Aaron Jenkins rushed in from 12-yards out to lead 15-0. With 48 second to go in the half, Jenkins found the end zone again for a three-yard run to lead 21-0 after a missed extra point.
The third quarter was scoreless, but with 8:50 left in the game, Jenkins found a hole and took off for a 59-yard touchdown to lead 28-0 and lock up the win.
Jenkins led the Bulldogs with 91 yards passing while also rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns.
Steven Moses added 76 yards rushing and
Salvatore Patierno picked up 66 yards rushing.
Keontae Townsend led Adrian with 84 yards receiving on three receptions followed by 32 yards receiving on three receptions from
Kenny Kujawa.
Deandre Jennings and
Kyle Minder led the way on defense for Adrian with nine total tackles each followed by seven from
Brandon Kwiatkowski and
Tyrelle Deener. Deener added a pair of interceptions on the afternoon.
The Bulldogs' season comes to an end as they finish with a 6-4 record which is the first winning record for the team since 2015.
