Football Lands Seven on All-MIAA Team

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) announced the 2022 All-MIAA teams on Tuesday afternoon. The Adrian College football team landed seven members on the All-MIAA team with two receiving first team honors and two earning second team honors. Representing the Bulldogs were Deandre Jennings and Kyle Minder on First Team All-MIAA while Keontae Townsend, Tyler Poirier, Jonathan Sasiela, Jimerie Cannon, and Brandon Kwiatkowski were selected as Second Team All-MIAA.
 
Jennings appeared in all ten games for the Bulldogs this season totaling 49 tackles on the year. 22 of his tackles were solo tackles while 27 of them were assisted. He recorded a sack on the season with 4.5 tackles for loss.
 
Minder also appeared in ten games for Adrian on the year and was the leading tackler for the Bulldogs. Minder finished the season with 63 tackles including 49 solo tackles. He finished the year with three sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries.
 
Townsend led the Bulldogs in receiving with 582 receiving yards. He appeared in all ten games during the season recording 27 receptions for an average of 58.2 yards per game. He was tied for the team lead with three touchdown receptions.
 
Tyler Poirier picked up a tight end spot on the All-MIAA Second Team. He finished the year with 123 yards receiving with a touchdown. He caught 14 passes on the year and averaged 12.3 yards per game.
 
 Sasiela represented Adrian appearing in nine games on the year for the offensive line. The offensive line helped the Bulldogs to 205.6 rushing yards per game with 27 touchdowns on the ground.
 
Cannon collected 31 total tackles on the year with 25 solo. He finished the season with four interceptions and a team-high seven pass breakups.
 
Lastly, Kwiatkowski finished the season with 27 tackles on the year for the Bulldogs with 17 of them recorded as solo tackles. He finished with four interceptions returned for 17 yards and three pass breakups. He also added five tackles for loss.
 
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 6-4 record which was the first winning season since 2015. 2022 marks the third season as an All-MIAA selection for Tyler Poirier, Brandon Kwiatkowski, Kyle Minder, and Deandre Jennings and the second honor for Jonathan Sasiela.
