ADRIAN, Mich. - On Saturday afternoon, the Adrian women's basketball team recognized the outstanding careers of its 2022 senior class. The joyous occasion spilled over onto the hardwood of the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center as the Bulldogs completed the season-sweep of Kalamazoo with a 68-45 victory.
One the local's five seniors,
Chelsea Palmer, turned in another noteworthy performance with 24 points, seven rebounds and two steals. The Brooklyn, Michigan native finished 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, and at times was even outscoring the entire Hornets line-up.

Katy Shannon,
Alexis Sillman and
Addison Bergman all started for the black and gold alongside Palmer, combining for seven additional points and seven more rebounds.
The difference of the contest came over the final twenty minutes. Adrian had successfully pieced together an eight-point lead by the end of the opening half, then a 14-1 run happened to kick-start the third quarter.
Palmer was instrumental to the 'Dogs scoring streak, contributing 11 points during that time frame, including nine consecutively.
Behind that the momentum, the black and gold ballooned their advantage to 24 points heading into the final frame, and as to as much as 33 points early in the fourth quarter.
Kalamazoo's defense managed to rattle the Bulldog offense part-way through the final 10 minutes, but by the point, the damage had already been done.
In all, Adrian outscored the visitors 22-7 on second chance points, 20-4 on fast break points, and 34-22 on points in the paint. Impressively, the team also shot 19-of-21 from the foul line.
Kiaya Warner added eight points for the 'Dogs (8-14, 5-9 MIAA), while
Jordan Phillips chipped in six.
The local's homestand continues on February 16 as they host conference-leading Hope College at 7:30 p.m.
