Jonas and French Combine for Eight Goals as Men's Lacrosse Rolls Through Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Adrian College men's lacrosse team opened the week with a massive victory over the Heidelberg University Student Princes. The Bulldogs came away with a 20-1 win behind eight combined goals from Michael Jonas and Chris French.

Jonas started the game with a man-up goal to lead 1-0. Chris French followed it up with a quick goal to lead 2-0 followed by another goal 30 seconds later from Travis Fox. Trenton Garcia and Peyton Gasche contributed to the scoring to lead 5-0 after the first quarter.

Michael Jonas opened the second quarter with a pair of goals to lead 7-0. French scored back-to-back to make it 9-0 before Brett Koczenasz found the back of the net to make it a 10-0 game at the half.

Jake Coakley and Riley Edwards scored to open the third quarter before Jonas netted his fourth of the game on another man-up opportunity. Heidelberg struck on a man-up chance to put themselves on the board, but it was the Bulldogs the rest of the way.

Coakley, French, Owen Kelly, Derek Hassel, Brandon Hoerauf, and Justin Norgrove all added to the scoring to finalize a 20-1 win.

 French finished the day with six points for the Bulldogs with four goals and two assists. Kelly finished the day with five points with a goal and four assists.

Sam Spangler moved to 6-2 on the season facing six shots on goal and making five saves. Mason Obeldobel finished the game with a shutout fourth quarter.

Adrian returns to action on Saturday as they host Hanover College at 1:00 PM. The Bulldogs will be host a Fight Against Cancer game on Saturday.
