WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Adrian College baseball team began its busy week on the road on Wednesday in a nonconference contest against Otterbein University. The Bulldogs struggled dropping the contest by a score of 10-5. Otterbein jumped out to a 6-0 lead, but the Bulldogs weren't able to fully erase the deficit.
The Cardinals opened the scoring in the bottom of the first inning with a solo home run to lead 1-0. They added a pair in the third inning on a sacrifice fly and a RBI single to lead 3-0. Another home run for Otterbein came in the fourth inning to put the Cardinals up 6-0.
Adrian put up three runs in the sixth inning after starting the sixth with the team's first hit of the game.

Otterbein responded with a run in the bottom half of the sixth to lead 7-3.
Goodes drove in two more for the Bulldogs on a single to put the score at 7-5 in favor of Otterbein, but the Cardinals answered back again and added three in the bottom of the seventh to lead 10-5 and close out the game.
Andrew Giorno got the start for the Bulldogs throwing three innings allowing three runs on three hits with three strikeouts to record the loss.
Adrian looks to bounce back and start the MIAA season strong with a three-game set with Calvin University on Friday and Saturday to begin MIAA play. Adrian will travel to Calvin on Friday followed by a doubleheader with the Knights at home on Saturday.
