MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- The Adrian College baseball team looked to get back on the winning track on Saturday afternoon as they went up against Greensboro College. The Bulldogs exploded for 16 runs while only allowing one which came on a solo homer in the sixth.
Kevin Cardentey had a day at the plate finishing 3-for-4 with two RBIs.
It took until the fourth inning for someone to strike, but it was Adrian to make the first move.
Andrew Hribar tripled in a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead.
Nathan Mix went on to single in Hribar to make it a 3-0 game.
The Bulldogs struck again in the fifth on a two-RBI double from Cardentey followed by a sac fly from
Ty Peck to go up 6-0.
Greensboro got on the board in the top of the sixth with a solo shot to pick up their only run.
Thomas Miller responded with a triple in the six to drive in two more which was followed up by a two-run homer from
AJ Miranda to lead 10-1. Adrian didn't stop there as
Ryan Davis homered in the seventh to lead 12-1 before an RBI double from
Adrian Gutierrez and another sac fly to go up 15-1. Adrian's final run came on a bases loaded walk in the eighth to come away with a 16-1 victory.
Maxwell Denny pitched 8.1 innings allowing just two hits with one run and six strikeouts to record the win.
Adrian is faced with a battle tomorrow as they take on No. 25 Denison University to wrap up the spring break trip at 11:00 AM.
