MOUNT BERRY, Ga. -- The No. 4 Adrian College baseball team played its seventh game in nine days as they wrapped up their spring break trip down south. The Bulldogs took on No. 25 Denison University where Adrian came away with a 19-9 loss.
Denison came out hot with a five run first inning. Adrian went on to score a pair in the second inning on solo home runs from
AJ Miranda and
Andrew Atherton. The Bulldogs allowed five more in the second due to a RBI single from Denison followed by a grand slam to make it 10-2.
Thomas Miller his an RBI single in the third to drive in a run, but the Bulldogs didn't score again until the fifth.
Don Goodes hit a homer in the fifth with two runners one, but Adrian only platted a pair after Goodes was called out for missing first base.
Denison went on to add another run in the sixth to make it 11-5 before the Bulldogs responded with a pair.
Nathan Mix knocked in a run on a single followed by a double from Goodes to trail 11-7.
Denison went on to score eight in the seventh with the help of their second grand slam of the game.
Goodes homered in the eighth followed by a single from Miranda to plate a run, but it wasn't enough as Adrian fell 19-9.
The Bulldogs will take some time off before heading down to Greensboro, North Carolina for three games where they will face Greensboro College for two games, and William Peace for one.
