ADRIAN, Mich. - At the Craft Tennis Complex, the Adrian College women's tennis team dropped a tough, 7-2 decision to Saint Mary's College, ultimately taking the Bulldogs out of contention for the MIAA postseason tournament.
The Saints opened on the right foot with a three-match sweep in doubles competition. Then, in singles, the visitors utilized four individual victories to clinch the contest.
For the 'Dogs,
Jules Johnson (13-3) picked up her team's first point on the afternoon at the No. 1 singles slot, winning her third consecutive match in straight-sets; 6-3, 6-1.
Not long after,
Liv Depies (11-6) improved her win-streak to two matches with her own two-set triumph, taking down the Belles' Kalyn Borger; 6-4, 6-2, but it was too little too late for the black and gold (8-10, 3-4 MIAA), who will not conclude the 2021-22 campaign at Hope College on April 27.
