ADRIAN, Mich. -- It was a tough way to end the weekend for the Adrian College baseball team on Sunday as the Bulldogs hosted the College of Wooster on Sunday afternoon in a nonconference contest. The Bulldogs struggled and fell to the Scots 14-5. Sunday's game wrapped up a five-game week for the Bulldogs with four games coming over the weekend.
Wooster opened the scoring in the second inning putting up a massive 8-spot to lead 8-0. The Scots hit a pair of home runs in the second inning including a grand slam. The Bulldogs grabbed a pair of runs in the bottom of the second on a 2-RBI single from
Gus Weaks to make it an 8-2 game. Wooster added another run in the fourth to extend the lead to 9-2.
The Bulldogs struck again in the fifth inning on sacrifice fly from
David Kedrow which was answered by a four run sixth inning from Wooster to make it a 14-3 game.Â
Weaks drove in another run in the eighth on a RBI single to make it 14-4 followed by an RBI groundout from Kedrow in the ninth.
Weaks finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBIs to lead the offense. The Bulldogs pitched by committee on Sunday throwing eight different pitchers in the effort.
Tyler Usher was handed the loss for the Bulldogs allowing seven runs on three hits in the second inning.Â
Adrian returns to action on Tuesday as they host Trine University in a MIAA contest at Nicolay Field. First pitch on Tuesday is scheduled to start at 4:00 PM.
