ADRIAN, Mich. – Athletic Director Michael Duffy announced the hiring of Dana Hall as the new Director of Skating for the Adrian College synchronized skating and figure skating teams.
"I am happy to announce Dana Hall as our new Director of Skating," said Duffy. "Her experience on the ice is just what we need for our program to provide a positive experience for our student-athletes while also putting a successful team on the ice."
Hall is a 2016 graduate of University Wisconsin-Oshkosh where she finished with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. During her time in college, she participated in the CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Program while also passing her Athletic Training Board of Certification Exam, and studying Sport Anxiety during her senior thesis research.
She's held multiple positions within the fitness field as she served as a Fitness Coach for OrangeTheory Fitness in New York for two years before becoming a head coach for OrangeTheory. She then became a Fitness Coach for F45 Training in Connecticut all while being a Fitness/Off-Ice Strength Coach for the Fond du Lac Blades since 2015.
Hall began skating in 1999 where she skated for the Wisconsin Edge before moving to the Fond du Lac Blades in 2002. From 2008-2012 she skated for the Starlights Synchronized Skating Team out of the Skokie Valley Skating Club. From 2016-2022, she skated for the Skyliners Synchronized Skating Team out of New York where she won multiple awards.
With the Skyliners, Hall won three bronze medals and six silver medals. Also with the Skyliners, the team went on to win the gold medal at the Zagreb Snowflake Trophy in 2017 and 2020.
Some other accomplishments of Hall's were serving as a US Figure Skating Team USA International Competitor in synchronized skating in 2006, 2010-13, and 2016-22. She was also a US Figure Skating Synchronized Skating World Team Member from 2018-20 and participated in the Synchronized Skating International Championships in 2006, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. She was a member of the US Figure Skating Athletes Advisory Committee and was a US Figure Skating DREAM Program Athlete Ambassador.
"I am so excited to have joined the Adrian College Skating family," Hall said. "After being an athlete for 20+ years, I am thrilled to be able to share my passion for skating and my drive for success in my first head coaching role. I have watched this program over the last ten years build a name for themselves in the synchronized skating community, and I can't wait to see where we can go in the future. Hall will begin he duties as Director of Skating for Adrian College in the coming weeks to prepare for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
