SAGINAW, Mich. -- The Adrian College Equestrian Team had a great start to their season this past Sunday, September 25th. The stock team traveled to Midland, MI for their season opener hosted by Saginaw Valley State University. The team competed against six other schools and ended in 1st place overall, not only in the AM show, but also in the PM show. With the highest amount of overall points, the team earned the team high point awards for the first two competitions of the 2022-23 season. Not only did 11 Bulldog athletes compete on Sunday, so did 5 of their team horses! Each team member, as well as horses, had a strong showing and did a great job representing Adrian College.
A special congratulation goes out to the following riders:
Lori Girrbach (senior and team captain) - PM reserve highpoint rider with a win in open horsemanship and a second place in reining
Abbigail Bella (senior) - qualified for regionals with a win in beginner horsemanship
Rachel Bowers (sophomore) - qualified for regionals with a win in level 2 horsemanship
The stock team will be back in action this Saturday, October 1st at Albion College for their third and fourth competitions of the season! Good luck and Go Bulldogs!
