ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's NCAA hockey team wrapped up its home series with Lawrence University on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs came away with the victory by a score of 9-0. Saturday's win marked the 100

Jessica VonRuden got things going in the first period with a goal halfway through to lead 1-0.
Aileena Dopheide added another goal to lead 2-0 heading into the first intermission.
In the second period, VonRuden scored on a power play to lead 3-0 and backed it with another power play goal 55 seconds later to pick up the hat trick. Late in the period, VonRuden scored her fourth goal of the game to lead 5-0.
In the third period,
Une Bjelland found the back of the net to extend the lead to 6-0. After that,
Lindsey Sorrell took over for a pair of goals throughout the span of 1:14 to put the Bulldogs up 8-0.
Emma Corbett scored a goal at the end of the period to bring the final score to 9-0.
Annie Gilbert got the start in goal facing ten shots and making ten saves. Saturday's shutout marks the first shutout of Gilbert's collegiate career.
After breaking the program record for most points in a single game with eight on Friday night, Bjelland added five more points on Saturday afternoon to bring her weekend total to 13 points.
Adrian will look to expand on its four-game winning streak next weekend when they host the Finlandia University Lions for a two-game series. Game one of the weekend series will take place on Friday, January 20 at 7:00 PM.
